Prusa’s Mobile Slicer Expands to Support Rival 3D Printers via EasyPrint

Prusa Research has released a major update to its EasyPrint mobile slicing tool, bringing support for a wide range of 3D printers beyond its own lineup. This marks a significant step toward broader compatibility and convenience for users.

EasyPrint now works with 22 different consumer-grade 3D printer brands, including Creality, Bambu, Anycubic, and Ultimaker. The app allows users to slice models sourced from Printables.com or uploaded directly within the app and then send the sliced file to a printer over a local network.

To connect a non-Prusa printer, users select the appropriate networking protocol and input the printer’s local IP address. Once connected, slicing, previewing, and sending models can be done in just a few taps.

The tool is designed with simplicity in mind, offering easy-to-understand profiles such as “fast,” “detail,” and “structural” for settings like infill, supports, and wall thickness. While not as advanced as desktop slicers, it provides a streamlined experience for mobile users.

With this update, Prusa has opened its mobile ecosystem to competitor hardware, giving users more flexibility and freedom when managing their 3D printing projects.
