Bambu Lab Discontinues P1P but Commits to Support Through 2031
Bambu Lab has officially confirmed that it is discontinuing the P1P 3D printer, one of its popular entry-to-mid level machines. While the printer will no longer be produced, the company says it will continue to support existing owners with firmware updates, parts and customer service through at least 2031.

The P1P made waves when it launched thanks to its solid performance and value for the price. It quickly became a go-to choice for hobbyists and beginners who wanted reliable prints without a high cost. Over time Bambu Lab expanded its lineup with more advanced machines that offered faster speeds and additional features, and now the company is realigning its focus around those newer products.
For current P1P owners this is reassurance that their machines are not being abandoned. Bambu Lab has pledged ongoing firmware improvements and will keep replacement parts available for years to come. That means owners can continue to use and maintain their P1P units with confidence, even as the product itself phases out of production.
The move also highlights how quickly the 3D printer market changes. What once felt like a great value in an entry machine can be overshadowed by the next generation of hardware, and manufacturers often make tough choices about which models to carry forward.
If you have a P1P in your workshop, there’s no need to panic. Bambu Lab’s support commitment means you will still get updates and assistance well into the future. For anyone considering a new machine, now might be a good opportunity to look at the newer models that build on the technology and features the P1P introduced.
